Validate: Editable metadata user guide

The metadata tab lists non-time based metadata for the asset and any files contained within the asset. An administrator can configure which metadata fields to show and whether or not fields should be editable by users or read only.

The metadata is separated into different sections:

  • Asset
  • Video files
  • Audio files
  • Subtitle files

Asset metadata is always visible, and file metadata can be found inside collapsible panels as shown below. The number in the panels tells you how many files of each type the asset contains.

Each section can contain both editable and read only fields, which are visually separated as you can see in the image below where “Genre” and “Published” are editable fields.

Edit the metadata by clicking the edit icon at the top right of each metadata section.

A form that has been configured by your administrator will appear and allow you to edit the metadata. Remember to Save the changes when you’re done.
